Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer and consultant, a speaker, columnist syndicated writer, author and television show host. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the business. Corcoran was a participant in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. Corcoran has signed 53 deals in February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran, who was the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income, was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran's childhood. At times, the family relied upon free food delivery from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father being a drunkard who sometimes treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, particularly after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended a Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
